Teachers and Students

SJW Teachers have native-speaker command of the English language. All of them are University graduates and hold a recognised English Language Teaching Qualification – the Cambridge University certificate (CELTA) or diploma (DELTA), the Trinity College Certificate (TESOL) or a Master’s degree in English Language Teaching.

All are experienced teachers who are enthusiastic about their profession, and continue to learn and develop their skills – SJW School is proud to sponsor its teachers on postgraduate courses such as the MA in ELT. The most important personal attributes possessed by SJW teachers are patience, tolerance and a sense of humour.

SJW Students are mainly professional people: office workers, teachers, managers, university students, doctors & nurses, hotel & tourism staff, and government employees. We have also taught English to actors, singers, fashion models, professional footballers, musicians, soldiers and members of Royal Families!

The average age is around 25, but we often have students at SJW School who are in their forties, fifties or even older. The minimum age is 18.

Most students come from Europe – about 10 percent come from France, Spain, Switzerland and Italy. Around 5 percent come from Japan, the Czech Republic, the Middle East, Brazil and Korea.

All of our clients understand the importance of English as the language of communication in the global village and the global marketplace.
