MAINCOURSE in 2007 offers 25 lessons per week, Monday to Friday, 0900 to 1420. It is an Intensive General English skills course which provides speaking, listening, reading and writing practice. There are classes at Elementary, Lower Intermediate, Intermediate, Upper Intermediate and Advanced levels. There are no classes for beginners. New students are tested on the first day of their course.
The maximum number of students in each class is 8. The minimum age of students is 18. The recommended minimum study period is 2 weeks, though one week is possible - there is no maximum study period. CAMBRIDGE UNIVERSITY EXAMINATION COURSES in 2007 offer 25 lessons per week of exam preparation, Monday to Friday, 0900 to 1420. There are two exam levels -
FIRST CERTIFICATE (Upper Intermediate level), and
ADVANCED CERTIFICATE (Advanced level).
These exam courses run for 14 weeks and cost 2730 British pounds (195 British pounds per week.) The Cambridge University Exam Entry Fee is included in this price. The maximum number of students in each exam class is 8. The minimum age is 18. Students who want to join an exam class will be sent an Assessment Test before enrolling. They will also be tested on the first day of their course. Academy SJW offers a Cambridge University Exam Pass Guarantee - students who are tested by us and placed in an appropriate exam class, attend all lessons for 14 weeks, work diligently, but fail the exam, will be given tuition credit to enable them to repeat the entire course at no cost. Full details of the guarantee will be mailed with the Assessment Test.
Spring Term Exam course dates: Courses start on 5 March. Courses end on 8 June.
Exams: First Certificate (FCE) 12 June; Advanced Certificate (CAE) 13 June.
Autumn Term Exam course dates: Courses start on 3 September. Courses end on 7 December.
Exams: FCE 11 December, CAE 12 December.
Late entry to the Exam courses is permitted, but without the Pass Guarantee.
MAIN + IELTS training offers 30 lessons per week. The course includes 25 lessons per week of Maincourse, plus 5 lessons per week of intensive IELTS training. The MAIN + IELTS course lasts for four weeks, and is ideal for students at Upper Intermediate or Advanced level who plan to study at a University in the UK, or who need to achieve a specific IELTS score for career or educational reasons. IELTS courses are not suitable for students who have an elementary or intermediate level of English. The maximum number of students per class on our MAIN + IELTS course is 8. The minimum student age is 18. The course costs 920 pounds for four weeks. This price does not include the IELTS test fee, and it is the responsibility of the student to select a test date and register for the test. Academy SJW can help with this.

One-to-One courses are also available. The course content and lesson timing are fixed by agreement between the student and the school. Course prices are from £50 per fifty-minute lesson. Academy SJW specialises in English for Professional Footballers on a One-to-One or small group basis.
Homestay accommodation can be arranged for SJW students: a single room with a local host family, taking breakfast and dinner every day, costs 125 British pounds per week. A single room, with breakfast only, costs 95 British pounds. For couples, a shared room with breakfast and dinner costs 210 British pounds per couple per week. A shared room, with breakfast only, costs 150 British pounds per couple. Most host families are in Travel Zones 2 or 3, and the total journey time to school varies from about 2 minutes to about 40 minutes. SJW School is located in Travel Zone 2.
Local Hotel accommodation can also be arranged. A single room with breakfast costs about 50 British pounds per night. A shared room costs about 75 British pounds.
Local Apartments can be rented for short periods at prices from about 250 British pounds per week. Longer term rentals (six months or more) are often cheaper.
SJW does not charge a fee for finding homestay, hotel or apartment accommodation.
