cultureSpeaking, listening, reading & writing skills will be practised – but every day, the language taught in the class will be focused directly on the specific vocabulary and grammar needed to understand and enjoy the afternoon museum or gallery visit. This study system is called CLIL – “Content & Language Integrated Learning”.

The teacher and students will travel by underground train from the school to the museum or gallery at 12.30pm, after the lunch break. The visits are not traditional “guided tours” – every student will be provided with a specially prepared Academy SJW Worksheet, and will explore the gallery or museum with a study partner, and under the teacher’s supervision. This ensures that the maximum profit will be taken from the afternoon visit, which will last approximately two hours. We don’t promise that you will be an expert in the subject at the end of the visit, but you will certainly understand and enjoy very much more than the average tourist! Worksheet Feedback sessions will take place during the first lesson of the following morning’s course.
