ABOUT SJW SCHOOL
St John's Wood School of English was founded in 1952, and was one
of the first English Language schools to be established in London.
SJW School is a small, family-owned school with ten classrooms and
a maximum of 90 students. At SJW, no one is a stranger - We believe
that our clients are also our friends, and in fact, around 25% of
people studying at SJW School are friends, relatives or colleagues
of former SJW students, or clients making a return visit!
SJW School is located in the St John's Wood area of central London,
in Travel Zone two. It is a pleasant, residential part of the city
and there are numerous pubs, cafes and restaurants nearby. The world
famous Saatchi Modern Art Gallery is behind SJW, and the EMI Studio,
where The Beatles recorded their albums, is five minutes away in
Abbey Road.
SJW School has a comfortable Students' Lounge, with TV and coffee
facilities. Each classroom contains a 'mini-library' from which
students can freely borrow a wide range of books - all at a language
level appropriate to the class. Audio and video tapes can also be
borrowed. Free Internet access is available at lunchtimes only.
